Contractors, building product manufacturers, distributors, and construction service providers can now access the industry’s most comprehensive source of construction project leads directly within the Microsoft Dynamics® customer relationship management software.
AGC Glass showcased four of its newest product offerings, including Energy Select® 23. The high performance low-e glass meets the latest demands for maximum solar control, natural daylighting, and the ever-increasing demand for more neutral, bluer aesthetics.
Thermally Insulated Doors
The Ply Gem 4880 thermally insulated patio door combines affordability with enhanced thermal protection, impact performance, and automation technology, making it easy for architects, builders, remodelers and homeowners to achieve expansive views and unrestricted access from the indoors to outdoors. The patio door is available in two-, three- and four-panel sliding and pocket configurations and features thermally insulated construction along with high-performance glazing packages.
Structural Silicone Solutions
Sika presented its full range of Sikasil® engineered structural silicone solutions for manufacturing, field construction, and installation of commercial glass façades. They also presented Sikasil® IG-25 HM Plus, an advanced sealant technology for the assembly of insulating glass units, providing higher strength for stronger unit construction and greatly improved gas retention.
Revu 2017 from Bluebeam is a PDF-based workflow and collaboration solution. It delivers enhanced PDF-based takeoff and workflow automation tools that span the entire project life cycle and maximize workflow efficiency.
Polyiso insulation from Firestone is designed to deliver high R-value per inch in cold temperatures. Its thermal resistance outperforms the industry standard by up to 18%.
Mineral Wool Insulation
Owens Corning introduces the formaldehyde-free Thermafiber® line of light density mineral wool insulation products. Thermafiber® mineral wool insulation also contributes to credits in green building programs and has a minimum 70% recycled content.
Room Air Conditioners
The Mr. Slim series of small- to medium-sized split-type room air conditioners from Mitsubishi is available in a variety of capacity and design combinations. The inverter-based units provide quiet operation and a high coefficient of performance (COP).
The Spiral Door from Rytec is designed to provide enhanced security and energy savings for applications such as freestanding and attached parking garages, as well as for office complexes, government and educational buildings, residential developments, and other high-use facilities. It features an opening speed of 60 in. per second (1524 mm per second, which quickly clears the doorway and prevents unwanted entry from parties “piggybacking” on welcome visitors.
Architectural Metal Panels
Parasoleil offers a line of architectural metal panels to filter and “sculpt” light that are engineered to withstand the elements while maintaining aesthetic appeal. The panels can be used to shade special architectural places and offer patterned nuance to structural detail or to create visual breaks, barriers, and privacy.
Wood Windows and Doors
Architect Series wood windows and patio doors from Pella feature fine-furniture detailing that adds to visual appeal. The EnduraClad® protective finish resists the effects of moisture, decay, and stains from mold and mildew.
StarRov® 090 direct roving from Johns Manville is manufactured by direct winding of continuous glass fibers of defined diameter into a cylindrical roving package. The fibers are coated with a silane sizing most suitable for reinforcement of epoxies, vinylester, and polyester resins. The product is designed to provide high strand integrity and improved wettability.
Stainless Steel Mesh
X-TEND stainless steel mesh from Carl Stahl Architecture can be used in a variety of applications, such as balustrade in-fill, horizontal or vertical fall protection, dividers, façade cladding, and green wall systems. The company can define and develop add-ons to meet specific project requirements for more design options.
Kone launches 24/7 Connected Services, an approach for its maintenance that uses the IBM Watson IoT (Internet of Things) platform. The new platform brings intelligent services to elevators and escalators with less equipment downtime, fewer faults, and detailed information on maintenance work. For people using elevators and escalators, it means less waiting time and more personalized experiences. The system enables data from elevator sensors to be monitored, analyzed, and displayed in real-time, improving equipment performance, reliability, and safety.
Suited for mid-rise residential projects, condominiums, and hotels, Tubelite Inc. introduces TerraPorte 7600 terrace doors. Sizes extend up to 12-feet-tall and easily integrate with curtainwall, ribbon window, or storefront systems, or used as a stand-alone door. The doors feature multilock hardware and heavy-duty aluminum hinges, along with corner key and crimped construction.
Linear Ceiling Panel
Armstrong Ceilings adds 2 in. and 10 in. panel widths to its line of MetalWorks™ Linear ceiling panels for both interior and exterior applications. All the panel widths in the line can be installed on the same Main Beam Carrier Assembly and Suspension System. The universal suspension system provides opportunities to mix and match panel widths for a variety of linear visuals.
Fire-Rated OSB Sheathing
LP® FlameBlock® Fire-Rated OSB Sheathing is certified to meet fire code compliance and delivers higher design values than FRT plywood at the same thickness. The sheathing has the versatility to be used in Type II, III, and V construction, and is a listed component in fire-rated interior wall assemblies, exterior wall assemblies, and roof deck applications.
Building Management Solution
With the new LG MultiSITE VM3 building management solution, architects can leverage a single, seamless solution that marries LG VRF and controls for streamlined system programming and the freedom to design a solution that best meets the needs of building owners and facility managers. Using the open Niagara Framework, users can tailor and customize a building’s operation to improve efficiency, minimize operational costs, and maximize comfort.
Solar Control Glass Coating
VNE-53, Viracon’s newest triple silver coating, offers architects, designers, and building owners a balance between neutral aesthetics and high-performance solar control. The coating features a neutral-silver appearance with visible light transmittance (VLT) of 52% and a solar heat gain coefficient (SHGC) of 0.23 on low-iron glass in a 1 in. insulating configuration, which results in a light-to-solar-gain (LSG) of 2.29.
The Kingspan KoolDuct® System is a pre-insulated rectangular HVAC ductwork system, which is installed in a single fix. This ductwork weighs up to 75% less than ductwork constructed from galvanized sheet steel and is insulated with mineral fiber making it suitable for refurbishment projects where existing building structures have insufficient load capacities for new service loads.
Vapor Protection Systems
Reef Industries offers the Griffolyn® system of polyethylene vapor retarders, seaming tapes, and pipe boots for total moisture infiltration control. There are several levels of permeance to choose from to meet the specific project demands for roofing, wall, and under slab applications. The barriers can be manufactured in sizes to meet project requirements up to 200 ft × 200 ft (61 m × 61 m).
Frameless Glass Corners
SLIMPACT® fixed windows from Faour Glass Technologies offers four-sided support with a maximum window size of 5 ft × 10 ft designed for hurricane-prone coastal regions. This configuration is typical for punched openings that are designed with a single unit. The product eliminates the need for corner posts in glass systems to offer unobstructed views from interior spaces.
