Green Evolution
Colorado’s Poudre School District reduces energy use as well as construction costs and time by using a prototype design that is progressively improved with each new school. Bethke Elementary School is the fourth iteration of the elementary school prototype. It received an ENERGY STAR rating of 99 and uses 42 kBtu/ft2 /yr. Improvements to the prototype include more solar tubes for interior daylighting, spray foam insulation and less south glazing in classrooms.
