Small Steps, Big Savings
Warren County, (Ky.), Public Schools have saved more than $4 million in energy costs since 2003. The newest school, Plano Elementary, uses 26.8 kBtu/ft2 • yr. An enhanced geothermal heat pump system and distributed water pumping help boost the school’s performance. It uses 16% less energy than Kentucky’s next most efficient ENERGY STAR school.
