Developing Synergy

Dockside Green, a 15-acre master-planned waterfront community in Victoria, B.C., is one of the first projects to earn LEED Neighborhood Development Platinum certification. Synergy, a multiunit residential building in the community, also earned LEED Platinum by using innovative products, construction methods and technologies. Waterways course through Synergy to manage storm water, a biomass gasification system supplies energy from clean wood waste, and residents receive real-time energy data, which helps them to make smart choices regarding their energy use.
