DPR Construction Phoenix Regional Office: Phoenix, AZ

Phoenix Rising

Some might say that the DPR Construction Phoenix Regional Office is a high performing building overachiever. It accomplishes goals of urban revitalization, adaptive reuse and net zero energy in a desert climate. When conditions permit, a passive cooling and ventilation system draws air in through operable windows and “shower towers,” exhausting it via a passively heated solar chimney. Occupants also contribute to the buildings' low annual energy use intensity of 26.8 kBtu/ft2 by accepting a wider temperature range and making other adjustments. Operational savings from the building's sustainable design are expected to result in an eight-year payback.
