Driving for Green

Two Ohio Honda auto plants have reduced their environmental impact through energy efficiency measures, reducing waste from manufacturing processes and conserving natural resources such as groundwater. A new paint booth technology reduces energy consumption and CO2 emissions by automatically controlling air temperature and humidity. At the East Liberty plant, electrically powered automatic guided vehicles transport parts from the receiving docks to the assembly line. The plants have earned the ENERGY STAR annually since 2006, the first year the award was given to auto plants.
